A new star is born

The new design of the Sirius 35 DS, which was found in a design contest and by active support and co-design by our owners and interested parties, will be continued!

We can announce the next new release - the new Sirius 310 DS – which will show itself with almost identical exterior design. The first boats of this new series will be launched in summer 2010.

Already in September 2009 we were - almost surprised - able to take the orders for the first three new Sirius 310 DS. At that time the new Sirius 310 DS existed only as an idea and as a drawing on a small sheet of paper. We are proud and thankful about the great confidence of our customers. So today I am very glad to show you here the first drawings and pictures.

The interior design with all its varieties and possibilities will resemble the Sirius 32 DS. Thus also the new 310 DS will be available in 14 individual interior design versions, such as for example in one of our 4-berth versions with the much-admired owner’s cabin in the centre of the boat below the saloon, or for those, who are used to the spacious and roomy feeling of much bigger boats, in one of our for 2-versions with the luxurious foreberth and toilet room, as well as the workshop with workbench.

In every version separate or integrated shower cabins and many individual special extensions can be realized.
Please have a look at the interior versions, which you will find in the column 32 DS at our website or in the tests of the 32 and the brochures.

The length of the interior room will be approximately 20 cm longer than the one in the 32 DS. This increase results from the more modern hull form and the bigger overhung on bow and stern of the classical 32 DS. This additional length will first of all be of advantage in the owner’s cabin (respectively the head in the for2 version) on port side and in the refrigerator and drawers in the pantry and the interior command station on starboard side. With refer to the beam we will also be able to add 20 cm to the deck, the pantry aisle and the navigation corner and are so in the position to ad even more room to move and storage space.

Building on the success of our 32 DS we will furthermore optimize the ergonomics, the eye-level and the space needs. In standard equipment the boat will be delivered with the prominent GRP decks house, as well as with teak in the cockpit and on the coamings. The teak on the running deck and around the mast will be an option. Of course also alternative deck coatings can be used instead.

All common equipment including the very extensive standard equipment and the manifold variants will practically be identical with our 32 DS. The exterior and interior design will be changed to a clearer line, comparable with our Sirius 35 DS. You will find pretty pictures in the column 35 DS and continuously updated 310 DS on: www.sirius-werft.de
Our Sirius 32 and 38 DS will stay our classical line with noble oiled decks house.

For any further questions please contact us any time.

I remain with best wishes from Plön
yours Torsten Schmidt

P.S. Even before the first publication and boat show, we were able to sell the first 5 boats. Please make sure now to secure an attractive delivery date for the season 2011 or 2012.

Philosophy
The philosophy behind our deck-saloon yachts lie in the inter-connection of the most important living areas on board. Why is this important for you?
On a Sirius deck saloon yacht, because the cockpit, interior helm, galley and saloon all share the same eye-level visibility while sailing, one can: remain in contact with the helmsman and crew, relax in the comfort of the protected deck saloon without worry and watch the children enjoying themselves safely,… enjoy life on board! This generates a totally new set of conditions on board, not just a life revolving around the cockpit.

Saloon
The saloon forms the heart of the Sirius 310 DS. With around 2 metres of headroom, the saloon has an elevated position with a comfortable round settee where one can enjoy a panoramic view on all sides.
Whether cooking for your crew, acting as helmsman sheltered from the weather with everything under control, or simply as a passenger, enjoying the sea view, in harbour or whilst at anchor… - from the saloon, you experience everything larger than life! -

Anyone who sails together with children, or wants to stay on board for a longer time, will value this ambience. Sitting comfortable on the settee inside the deck saloon, the raised table-seating position offers an excellent place to enjoy an all-round view for up to six people. Whether standing in front of the galley, or sitting at the interior helm, you find yourself exactly at the same eye-level as your guests, even those in the cockpit.

The large saloon table with integrated bottle store can be lowered (optional) and the seating area around the table quickly converts into an additional double berth (1.40 x 2.08 m). Whilst sailing, because of the al-round view and its closeness to the cockpit, the saloon table doubles as large chart table, with storage for charts underneath.

4-berth version
In our ever popular 4-berth version up to 6 crew members can be accommodated in 3 separate double berth cabins (by lowering the saloon table, optional). As we use the widest part of the boat on nearly 3 meters for multipurpose, you will easily find the space of a common 38 feet boat inside our Sirius 310 DS. Enjoy the astonishing amount of extra space which is provided by the raised saloon concept.

Owner’s cabin
The owner’s cabin is situated in the centre of the boat to ensure the least amount of movement. It boasts a luxury double berth of 2.10 metres in length and 1.60 metres width running the full length.
Generosity and functionality combine to give a large locker with shelving for clothes, coat rack, side cupboards, as well as a seating area and more than 1.95 metres of headroom. Ample light and air is provided by the permanent airing, a window, a hatch and if required also a sliding hatch to the galley or even hull windows.

Toilet room
The wash room facilities in this design are exceptional with up to 1.98 metres of headroom and a large washbasin. The mirrored wall, filing shelf and a cupboard under the washbasin combine practicality with comfort.

Shower
Certainly noteworthy for a 31-foot yacht: as an alternative to the integrated shower is an optional shower-unit totally separate from the toilet available. It is sensibly located on the opposite side. In addition to the oilskin locker in the companionway, the two big lockers, drawers and the side cupboards, the shower can be used as wet weather storage space, if it is fitted with a removable coat rail.

'for 2' version
Countering the trend for packing ever more berths into small yachts, we have followed the wishes of our discerning clients with this design version. Boats of around 10 metres are often used mainly by 2 people, with occasional guests on board. This boat is designed entirely with these needs in mind for customers who want a smaller boat for easier handling, but who don't want to miss maximal comfort at the same time.
Sirius 310 DS – English translation of the brochure – page 2
The fore cabin occupies all of the space forwards of the main bulkhead including the space otherwise used for the shower, aisle, locker and toilet. This allows a luxury berth measuring 2.10 in length and 1.70 metres width with entrance offset to one side. You will also find two spacious lockers, as well with a dressing seat. Drawers that are 70 cm deep make good use of the space under the berth.
The open space left in front of the double berth and lockers, with more than 1.95 m headroom, adds to the roomy feel and provides much space for two people to dress or get ready for bed at the same time.
In the space aft, usually used for entrance and locker space to the owner’s cabin we were successful in installing the original wash room from our Sirius 38, with large wash basin and convenient lockers as well as having full 1.95 metres headroom. Several alternative bed-constellations with re-arranged beds, middle entrance or as “island-bed” are possible.

Workshop
In the centre of the boat, directly above the keel, is the technical room that is accessible from above. Here, similar to on our 38 foot yacht, all tanks and aggregates and technical equipment are placed near the yacht’s centre of balance.
In the middle, a seat is situated in front of a small workbench, where you can access and maintain the technical equipment.....ample space remains for storage, to store tools, for additional aggregates – like air conditioning and generator – and for special options like additional guest berths or, as once realized in a 32, even a 2-person nordic sauna!

The hull is still in build

Also the construction is almost finished.
In the remaining the interiorbecomes with all its variants and possibilities the similar once as the Sirius 32 DS.
So also the new 310 DS is available in 14 individual extension versions like for example as our 4-berth-versions with a double bed of 1,60m width in the center of the boat under the saloon, two further berths in the head and the possibility of a fifth and sixth berth in the saloon.
Or as our popular for2-version with luxerios head and bath, as well as the technology room with workbench.
In every versiona seperate shower room and a lot more is possible.
Under rublic "32 DS" you will find several versions to this theme on our website.
The inner room will be 20 cm longer in the length than in the 32 DS.This increase explains itself out of the more modern hull form and the more extreme overhanging at the bow and stern of the 32 DS.
This length increase will come the owner´s cabin, at the for2-version the toilett room and the refrigerator on the port side and the push box at the pantry primarily. In the width, we become also 20cm more at the walking deck, the gangway of the pantry, the navigation corner und all the storage.
We optimized constructing on the success of our 32 DS, the ergonomics, the optimizes visibility axes and the room, you need.
The ship becomes delivered in the standard with the marked plastic decks house, teak in the cockpit and the coaming. The teak over the whole deck will be an option. obviously we can offer you alternative cover coatings.
The usual equipment features of the extensive standard equipment of our Sirius 32 DS will be identical.

For further question, please do not hesitate to contact us.

The first brochure will be ready for the exhibition "boot"  in Düsseldorf (23.-31.01.2010).

With the best greetings out of Plön
Yours Torsten Schmidt
