After the great success of our new lineup, we want to continue improving with our new Sirius 40 DS.
The work put into the two little sisters, the Sirius 35 and 310 DS, was immense. A little when having a third child, we want to have another go, just for pleasure, and we scheduled a year to develop the yacht with patience and passion, together with you. Thus, the first Sirius 40 DS will not touch waters before 2014.
Until then, we anticipate your ideas and your participation, and we have many questions:
What do you
expect from a larger Sirius?
Our unique concept offers 6 additional feet of
space, since we utilize the space where the ship is broadest twice, and the
inclusion of a saloon, pantry storage, midship birth and the technical room
makes for spatial dimensions of a 46 foot yacht. Is this big enough?
Does the yacht need 3 double births or is a larger cockpit more suitable?
As opposed to our competitors though, we want to keep to our low, comfortable aft cockpit with access to the bathing platform, the almost ground-level entrance to the saloon and the refined view axis concept, instead of building high, with steps and aft cabins. The shown concept shows, compared to the 35 DS, a significantly larger cockpit, 2 additional seats in the seating area, 2 bathrooms with integrated or separate shower cabins and in addition to the „owner's suite“ below the saloon, a more luxurious front ship; more fender storage behind the anchor locker and a bigger bathing platform are also possible.
Which is your
favourite layout?
Do you prefer isle-, V- or side-entrance births?
Is the
placing of the bathroom to your liking, or should there be two? Would you give
up seating space in the cockpit in exchange for an aft bathroom or an aft birth
on the starboard side?
How do you like our swivelling steering pedestal or the
two steering wheels?
What is your opinion on the little drawbridge, that serves
as a gangway to the bathing platform?
Should it be this way, or revert back to a door or a retractable transom?
We are looking forward to your opinions, ideas and impressions and to developing the details with you! But please understand that we can not personally answer each and every e-mail you send. During the design process of the 35ers, we received over 100 e-mails a day!
